Obituary

WORCESTER-Marie M. O’Hara, 84, of 11 Marble Street, died Sunday, April 20th in UMass Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brother, Paul F. O’Hara and his wife Jeanne of Holden; 14 nieces and nephews; and many grand nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Catherine O’Hara Morgan and Jean O’Hara Blanchard predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Frederick J. and Marguerite (Mellody) O’Hara. Ms. O’Hara was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School and the Salter Secretarial School. She worked her entire career at Worcester County Bank (now Bank of America) from which she retired after 30 years of dedicated service. Ms. O’Hara was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Church where she actively participated in their many spiritual and social activities. She was an avid Red Sox fan who happily lived to celebrate their two championships. Ms. O’Hara enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, but mostly the company of her many friends and relatives.

The funeral is Friday, April 25th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will he held Friday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UMass Memorial Medical Center, NICU, 119 Belmont Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
