WORCESTER___Anthony J. Zukowsky, 94, of Worcester, died Friday April 18, 2008 in his home. His wife of 58 years, Mary E. (Cerce) Zukowsky died in 1998.
He leaves two daughters, Patricia A. Nault and her husband, Raymond J. of Laguna Niguel, CA., and Janice L. Evers of Worcester; five grandchildren, Timothy A. Cronin of California; Micahel J. Paladino of Arlington; Nancy Paladino of Watertown and Derek A. Evers and Elizabeth M. Smarra both of Worcester, nine great-grandchildren, a brother, Raymond Zukowski of Worcester and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jean M. Hines and by two grandchildren, Christopher W. Evers and Stephanie J. Cronin. He was also predeceased by two brothers and three sisters. He was born in Shenandoah, PA., a son of Anthony and Sophie (Nowakowski) Zukowski and lived here for most of his life.
Mr. Zukowsky was an ironworker many years for Worcester Ironworkers local #7. He retired 25 years ago. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Church and its Men’s Club. He was also a member of the U.S. Steel Retiree’s Club and Worcester Ironworkers local #7.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday April 22, 2008 from DIRSA - MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday April 21, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Church Free Meal Program, 44 Temple Street, Worcester, Ma., 01604 or to St. Stephen's Church, 16 Hamilton Street, Worcester, Ma., 01604.
