Obituary

Charles V. “Buddy” Kennedy, 79, of Huntington Avenue, died Thursday, April 17, 2008 in Oakland Grove Nursing Home. He was the loving husband of Joan (Provencher) Kennedy. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Charles and Rose (Parent) Kennedy.

Mr. Kennedy worked as a maintenance instructor for the United States Army. He was a Korean War Veteran and was a member of the Air National Guard for 24 years. He also worked as a civilian employee for the Air Force.

Mr. Kennedy was a member of the Fairmount Post #85 American Legion and also of the Retired Officers Association. Mr. Kennedy loved spending time with his granddaughter, Sarah.

In addition to his wife and granddaughter, Charles is survived by his son, David Kennedy and his wife Jessica of Lincoln RI; and his sister, Velma Maynard of Warwick RI. He was predeceased by a sister, Carol Mondoux.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Charles’ family from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, April 21, 2008 in the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket RI. A gathering will begin at 9:00 am on Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 190 North Main St., Woonsocket RI. Burial with Military Honors to follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, South County Trail, Exeter RI. In lieu of flowers, donations, may be made to the American Lung Association, 260 W. Exchange Street, Suite 102B, Providence RI 02903.
