Elsie P. (Medeiros) Theodore, 95, of Westport passed away Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility in New Bedford after a long illness. She was the widow of Manuel Theodore.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Amos and Eulalia (Cunha) Medeiros, she had lived in New Bedford for most of her life before to moving to Westport. Prior to retirement she was a seamstress at the former Elco Dress Company in New Bedford. She was a Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport. Mrs. Theodore enjoyed dancing and spending times with her family especially her great grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter: Bernice A. Vieira and her husband Robert of Westport and Spring Hill, FL; 2 brothers: Gilbert P. Medeiros and his wife Irene of New Bedford and Amos P. Medeiros and his wife Evelyn of Spring Hill, FL; 2 granddaughters: Michelle Rapoza and Robin Metivier; 4 great grandchildren: Katelyn Rapoza, Tayla Rapoza, Ryan Rapoza and Dylan Metivier; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Octavio P. Medeiros and Edward P. Medieros.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, April 22, 2008 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Monday 5 - 8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
