Robert E. Jette 75, of 218 Pond St. died Monday in Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Julia (Walters) Jette. Mr. Jette was born in Uxbridge, MA a son of the late Honorius and Isabelle (Gaudette) Jette. He was a courier for the Woonsocket Housing Authority for many years retiring in 2002. He had also worked at the former Fogarty Hospital as a nurse for many years. Mr. Jette was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a former member of the Amvets Post 7.
Mr. Jette is survived by two sons Robert J. Jette and Scott R. Jette both of Woonsocket, three daughters, Christine Buxton, Charlene Dugas, and Charlotte Lacroix all of Woonsocket, three brothers Edward Jette of Melbourne, FL, Honorius, and Normand Jette both of Woonsocket, two sisters Evelyn Rasmonson and Theresa Comtois both of Woonsocket, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Tracy J. Jette, and brother of the late Francis and Doris Jette, Barbara Vitiello, and Pauline Boucher.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 am from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Sunday 6-8 pm.
