Vincenza (Marinello) Iula, of Medford, died at home Tuesday night. She was 86.
Vincenza was born and raised in Italy, the daughter of the late Francesco and the late Nicoletta (Morielo) Marinello. 55 years ago she and her family came from a village in Avellino, Italy to Boston’s North End. They soon settled in Medford, where she lived for over 40 years raising her family. Vincenza was a dedicated wife and mother. She enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and took great pride in her garden.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph. She was a devoted mother to Anna Maria Bonaventura and her late husband Fred of Medford, Nicholas Iula and his wife Roberta of PA, Frank Iula and his wife Lisa of Stoneham. She was a loving grandmother to Lisa, Freddie, David, Michael and Mellisa Bonaventura, Violetta, Raffaele, Mary and Robert Iula. Vincenza also leaves 4 loving great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Louie Marinello of Somerville.
Her funeral will be from the from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
