Hilda W. (Wentworth) Telfer age 104 of Salem, NH, died Sunday peacefully at the Warde Health Center, Windham, NH.
She was born in Eastport, Maine, where she grew up and attended school. She later graduated from Bryant & Stratton Business School in Boston, MA. She was a resident of Salem for the past 76 years, formerly of Boston & Medford, MA.
Mrs. Telfer was a self employed bookkeeper. She was a charter member of the Salem Women’s Club and charter member of the Salem Garden Club. Telfer Circle and Hilda Place in Salem were named after her & her late husband. She just recently received the Boston Post Cane Award for the oldest resident in Salem, NH.
Hilda was the matriarch of her family and was always there with love and care for them.
She was predeceased by her husband Harold Telfer.
She is survived by her daughter: Lois Watjen of Thomaston, ME

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 16 at 10:00 AM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday April 15 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
