Obituary

Marblehead: Margaret E. (Smith) Essery age 89, a former resident of Marblehead, died Wednesday, April 10, 2008 at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley in Billerica, following a long illness.
Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Freeland and Catherine A. (Cassidy) Smith. A graduate of Lynn Classical, she first worked for General Electric in Lynn. In the 1980 she left G.E. and began doing domestic work and cooking for several families in Marblehead and Swampscott. Margaret was a resident of Lynn and member of Sacred Heart Parish and Sodality for many years. Following a brief period of living in Florida, she returned to the North Shore and settled in Marblehead. Margaret was a most devoted mother who simply loved all children.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Maureen E. Kelly and her husband Jerry of Parma, OH, Julie A. Kiricoples of Salem, Karen J. Garrett and her husband Charles of Tewksbury, 12 grandchildren: Paul, Daniel, Janel, Matthew & Christopher Kiricoples, Laura Vorrias, David, Peter,& Brian Kucharski, Marilyn & Kenneth Garrett and Sharon Rogers. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late Ernest E. Essery.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Monday, April 14, 2008 at 9 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, followed by her funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem at 10 am. Visiting hours: Sunday 1 to 5 pm. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, W. Peabody. If desired, memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472
