On April 8, 2008 at 12:30 a.m. Ronald Lee Thomas left this earth and entered his heavenly home. Ronald was born December 1, 1948 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the Late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Thomas. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Solid Rock United Bibleway Church of Christ Church in Winston-Salem, North Caroline where he was a faithful member.
He moved to Huntsville, Alabama in 1972 to attend Oakwood Seventh Day Adventist College where he graduated with a BS degree in Theology. He later attended Athens College in Athens, Alabama where he received his BS degree in Business Administration. He was employed at Huntsville Hospital for several years and later employed by the Huntsville School until his retirment.
He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Deborah Toney Thomas; one son, Ronald L. Thomas, Jr. (Kenyetta) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Ronald III, Raquan, Varina, Tanesha and Alexis; one great grandchild, Malayah Bonaparte all of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; two sisters, Wanda Hines (William) and Shirley Dillard (Lorenzo) both of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; one brother Charles Thomas of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; a devoted mother-in-law, Mrs. Mattie Toney; three sisters-in-law, Tina White, Elaine White (Essie) both of Huntsville, AL and Dr. Joneice Morgan (Isom) of Hoover, AL one brother-in-law, Donald Toney (Zadie) of Huntsville, AL; a longtime friend, Mr. Stanley Nickles and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday from the Douglas Tabernacle P. B. Church with Elder Robert Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens. The Thomas family will recieve family and friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday from the funeral home. The remains of Mr. Thomas will be in the church one hour prior to funeral time.
