Obituary

BOSTON - John R. “Jack” Nixon, 75, of Westport died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He was the husband of Donna L. (Dextraze) Nixon. They had been married for 51 years.

Mr. Nixon was born in Enfield, New Hampshire, son of the late John and Mildred E. (Richards) Nixon and had resided in Westport since 1963. He had been employed by U.P.S. of Dartmouth for 37 years as a truck driver until his retirement in 1992. Mr. Nixon enjoyed his retirement to the fullest by making people laugh, spending time with his family and going on trips to Foxwoods with his wife.

Survivors in addition to his wife include: 2 sons: Michael J. Nixon of Swansea and Christopher Nixon of Fall River; 1 daughter: Michelle Adesso of S. Dartmouth; 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be Friday at 7 P.M. at the Potter Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday 4-7 P.M. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Luke’s Hospital Blood Bank, 101 Page St., New Bedford, MA 02740.
