Obituary

Worcester—James E. Nelson, Sr., 70, died April 5, 2008, in Coral Springs Medical Center. He leaves his wife of 12 years, Liliane L. (Hayot) of Margate, FL; his son, James E. Nelson, Jr. of Worcester; his daughter and her husband, Deborah and Jeffrey Humber of E. Sandwich; 2 brothers, Ralph and Paul Nelson; 3 sisters, Florence Hutchinson, Elizabeth Leo, and Carol Cofski; his grandson, Kyle; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 1 sister and 4 brothers. He was born in Worcester, son of Florence (Mercier) and Carl E. Nelson. He attended North High and Quinsigamond Jr. College. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Firedrake. He was a patrolman for the Worcester Police Department and served in the Traffic and Motorcycle Divisions, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Worcester Police Brotherhood and was a fundraiser for the Jimmy Fund. Funeral services will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Friday, April 11th at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Eastwood Cemetery, Lancaster.
