Obituary

Vincent A. Arcieri, Jr. of Lynnfield, formerly of Medford, died Friday at Kindred Hospital, Peabody. He was 67.

Mr. Arcieri was raised in Medford and graduated from Medford High School. He joined his father in business and helped develop United Contracting into a very successful contract rubbish removal and recycling firm, serving the City of Boston and many commercial accounts throughout Greater-Boston and the South Shore. He operated the company until his retirement in 1997. Vincent enjoyed horse racing, professionally breeding and racing horses. He also experienced success as a real estate investor. Mr. Arcieri was active in his community and was a member of the Medford Kiwanis and the Mass. Chiefs of Police Assoc.

He was the beloved husband of Joyce (DiGregorio) Arcieri. He was a devoted father to Maria Arcieri of Medford, Laura Hulme and her husband Bernie of Tewksbury, Dina Castiglia and her husband Alessandro of Tewksbury, and the late Vincent A. Arcieri, III. He was the dear son of Marie (Zito) Arcieri and the late Vincent Arcieri, Sr. He was a loving grandfather to Tanya, Tiffany, Gina, Shalimar, Miranda, Vincent and soon-to-be grandfather to Joseph Alessandro Castiglia. He was the brother of the late Lorraine Antonelli.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family Tuesday 2 - 9. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Vincent’s name to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD 20892.
