TEWKSBURY - Pauline E. (Franz) McAllister, 84, died Friday, Dec. 21, at the Lowell General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lee I. McAllster who died in 1972.
She was born in Gilmanton, NH, Feb. 8, 1917, the daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret (Smith) Franz. She was raised in Billerica and graduated from the Howe High School. She had resided in East Tewksbury-North Billerica since 1974.
She devoted her life to her family, and enjoyed home gardening, cooking and birdwatching.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert N. McAllister of Malden, William L. and his wife Nancy (Gerard) McAllister of Merritt Island, Fla., Paul A. and his wife Lorraine (Desler) McAllister of No. Falmouth, 6 grandchildren, Leslie Brophy-McAllister, Robert McAllister Jr., Kathy McAllister, Jodie Smith, William McAllsiter and Alan McAllister, six great grandchildren, Allison, Alex, Erica, Nathan, Alexander, and Samantha, and one brother Alfred J. Franz of Nottingham, NH.She was also sister of the late Leslie Franz, who died in the Pacific during WWII.
Her funeral service was held Thursday, Dec. 27, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment was in Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the Merrimack Valley VNA, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg 9, Lawrence, MA 01843 will be appreciated.
