In Taunton, April 3, 2008 Joseph E. died after a brief illnes at the age of 80. He was the husband of Cecelia (Pierre). Joseph resides on Whittenton St. and has lived in Taunton since 1989. Born & educated in St. Lucia, West Indies to the late Gaston & Frencellette (James) Nicholas. Joseph was employed as a seamen for Geest Lines Freight Co. & also a diver installing underwater cable for Cable & Wireless Co. in England. He was an avid fisherman, loved diving, swimming, music and his children. Besides his wife Joseph leaves his eight children: Jacqueline, Raphael, Claude and Chad Nicholas all of Taunton, Theodore Pierre-Nicholas of CT., Christian Modest Nicholas of Canada, Yvette Theresa Vodor of France and Norma Cleta Birch of Germany. He is also survived by 23 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by several neices and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Annunciation of the Lord Church on Thurs., April 10th at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours prior to the Mass from 9:30-10:30am. Burial in Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
