Mr. Anthony Imperioso, age 85, Of Woburn, for the last 47 years, formerly of Boston's North End, died Tuesday April 1, 2008. He died at the Woburn Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. Born in Boston, Anthony was the devoted son of the late Florinda (Barrasso) & Carmine Imperioso.
Anthony was a US Army veteran of World War II and a US Navy veteran of the Korean War. Wounded in France on January 4, 1944 he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Following his military career he went to work for the United States Postal Service. Working for over 30 years, he retired in the 1980's. He was a member of the Son's of Italy in Winchester and the Dante Aligheri Society of Cambridge.
Anthony was the beloved husband of Susan M. (Dell'Anno) Imperioso. Devoted father of Anthony Imperioso Jr. of Woburn, Suzanne Maurici-Woolley of Wareham, Mary Jane Maurici-Towse and her husband Robert Towse of North Andover. Loving grandfather of John Woolley. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Friday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church 280 Main St., Woburn at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8.
Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
