Mary A. (Lonergan) Kane of Andover, beloved wife of the late Daniel J. Kane, died at Wingate Nursing Center in Andover on Tuesday, March 4, 2008. She was 97 years old.
Born in Andover on July 9, 1910, she was the beloved daughter of the late Michael and Bridget (Conlon) Lonergan. Mrs. Kane was a lifelong resident of Andover as well as a member of St. Augustine Church of Andover. She was an avid reader and loved to go out for lunch with her family and friends. Mary worked as an assembler for Converse Rubber Company in Andover for more than 33 years, until her retirement in 1974.
She will be sorely missed by her loving niece’s Janet M. Moreau of Andover, Robert Kane of Peabody and Louise “Bunny” O’Grady of Lynn and several cousins.
Her funeral was celebrated in St. Augustine Church 43 Essex Street, Monday, March 10, 2008, at 10:30 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Calling hours were held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home 390 North Main Street, Andover, Sunday, March 9, 2008, from 4 to 8 PM. Burial was in St. Augustine Cemetery, Andover.
