TYNGSBORO - Ronald C. Yates, 73, a resident of Tyngsboro, died Sunday March 30th at Radius Northwood Healthcare Center in Lowell. He was the beloved husband of Patricia E. (Graham) Yates to whom he has been married for 43 years.
He was born in Lowell on November 6, 1934, and was the son of the late George and Ellen (Winters) Yates. He received his education in Chelmsford schools and was a graduate of Chelmsford High School class of 1953.
Mr. Yates served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed by the former Besco Graphic Systems in Lawrence. Earlier in his career he was employed as a delivery driver and salesman for the former Cushman's Bakery in Lynn and then by B & M Railroad.
He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed fishing.
He was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Chelmsford and was active in several area Mason logdges including the Ancient York Lodge, the Mount Horeb Chapter, and the Ahasuerus Council. He was also past commander of the Pilgrim Commandry #9.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law Scott and Donna Yates of Tyngsboro, Mark and Stacy Yates of Pheonix, Arizona, and Ronald and Lisa Yates of Westford; a daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Todd Reardon of Dracut; seven grandchildren Michael, Joshua, Sydney, Trevor, Mia, and Cameron Yates, and Stephen Reardon; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Wednesday from 4 until 8 PM. His funeral will held from the funeral home on Thursday at 8:45 AM followed by his Funeral Service at 10 AM at All Saints Episcopal Church in Chelmsford. Burial in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
