Obituary



Anthony M. ( Tony ) Klim died at his home of natural causes on March 28th.Born in Brockton, May 28th , 1916 he was the son of the late Martin and Anna ( Matulaitis) Klim and moved to Stoughton in 1919. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Rita ( Kelleher ) Klim. He is also survived by his eight children – Martin and his wife Paula of Winthrop, MA; Karen and her late husband Paul Angell Sr. of Taylors, SC; Kevin of Stoughton; Brian and his wife Anne of Stoughton; Christopher of Plymouth, MA; Mary Sandoval of Cumberland, RI; Monica and her husband Daniel Kerman, of Atkinson, NH and Colleen and her husband Mark Jordan, of Berkley, MA. He also leaves 16 grandchildren and 7 great – grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings Charles, William, John, Peter, Isabelle ( DeMone ), Anne ( Keyes ), Margaret, and Eva. Tony was a lifelong communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. He worked many years as a carpenter with his brother John before becoming a member of the Carpenters’ Union where he was a licensed construction supervisor; he later worked at the Stoughton Housing Authority until his retirement in 1985. Tony served his country with honor during World War II achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant in the Army earning the Good Conduct Medal, a Purple Heart, and the Bronze Star. He received a citation from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1645 in 2005 for 53 years of continuous membership and service, many as the Post Chaplain. A lifelong resident of Stoughton, Tony was a devoted family man who loved children. He loved sports and was an avid bowler and fisherman who enjoyed summers on Peter’s Pond in Sandwich, MA and winters in Venice, Florida.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday March 31, 2008 from 4 – 8 P.M. in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. A mass of Christian burial for the repose of his soul will be held on Tuesday April 1, 2008 at 11: 30 A.M. in The Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton Street, Rt. 27 Stoughton. The Pastor Rev. Joseph P. McDermott, officiating. Burial will follow at The Massachusetts Veteran’s National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368 in Tony’s memory would be appreciated.
