Obituary

Albina A. Levanto Antoch, age 87, of Brinden Avenue, Pawcatuck, passed away Thursday morning at the Westerly Hospital.

Mrs. Antoch was born in Norwich on January 2, 1921 the daughter of Laurence M. and Lucy (Tedeschi) Levanto.

She was married to Joseph H. Antoch at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Norwich on September 6, 1941. Mr. Antoch died March 4, 2004.

A resident of Pawcatuck since 1941, she was employed at Gulinos Bakery, Holly Wreath, and later at Wendy’s in Westerly where she worked until the age of 84. She was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church.

Mrs. Antoch enjoyed baking and cooking, especially cremed horns, for others; crosstitching, playing cards, computer games, and sewing. Over the years, she made wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, Stonington High School cheerleading uniforms, and special date dresses or special occasion outfits for anyone who called with last minute requests.

She is survived by her daughters, Lucy Angliker of Abingdon, VA, and Gemma Montgomery & her husband Byron of Abingdon; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Madeline Maruzo, Veronica Seaburg, Frances Macaione, John Levanto and Cosmo Levanto.

Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, historic downtown Mystic on Monday from 12noon until 1:45pm, followed by a service at 2pm. Fr. Dennis Perkins, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Pawcatuck, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Pawcatuck.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 106 Franklin Commons, Rte. 32, Franklin, CT 06254 or a Hospice of your choice.
