Marie J. (Roberts) Emery 92, died Tuesday March 25th after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late John H. Emery.
Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Mary (Cannon) Roberts. She was raised in Dorchester before her move to Rockland where she was a graduate of Rockland High School and remained a resident for almost 80 years. She was a member of the Holy Family Church of Rockland.
Marie worked for Trueman Catering for many years.
She enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and traveling as well as bowling, bingo and line dancing.
She is survived by her sons Paul Emery and his wife Marie of Florida, John Emery and his wife Debbie of Weymouth, Ronald Emery and his wife Delia of CA, and Kenneth Emery of Marshfield, her daughters Cheryl Harlow and Debra Emery both of Rockland, her sister Eleanor Ferrigna of Quincy, 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Donald, John, Ralph and Walter Roberts, and Rose Fetter.
Her services will be held Monday March 31st at 10:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rt.58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 11 AM in the Holy Family Church, Rockland. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland. Visiting hours will be held Sunday March 30th from 5-7 PM.
