J.Donald Morin,80, of 1 Spring St., died peacefully surrounded by his family at Quaboag on the Common, West Brookfield on March 25th.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Madelyn (Ledoux) Morin, two sons David Morin and his wife Beth of New Jersey, Mark Morin and his wife Pam of Florida, a daughter Donna Flannery and her husband Tom of Spencer, 7 grandchildren, David, Michael, Bryan & Matthew Morin all of New Jersey, Tommy, Ryan & Kayleen Flannery of Spencer and eight great-grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by a grandson Jeffrey Morin.
Don was born in Spencer on Dec. 15, 1927, the son of Leo and Blanche (Jette) Morin. He lived in Spencer most of his life, then moved to Centerville on Cape Cod for 20 years before moving back to Spencer 13 years ago. He graduated from David Prouty High School and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II. He was a Spencer Police Officer for 8 years, a job that he enjoyed most. He then worked as a terminal manager for various freight lines in Worcester before retiring in 1980 and moving to Cape Cod. He was a member of Gaudette-Kirk Post 138 American Legion in Spencer.
At his request no funeral services are planned. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson's Disease Association of MA, 720 Harrison Ave, Boston, MA 02218 or to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, Young Road, East Brookfield, MA 01515. The family is very grateful for the outstanding care that he received from the staff at Quaboag on the Common & Guardian Hospice. J.
