Obituary

OXFORD - Thomas P. “Porky” Forand, Sr., 54, of 23 Wheelock Street, died Saturday, March 22, in the University of Massachusetts/Memorial Healthcare, Belmont Street, Worcester, after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 31 years, Maureen E. (Smith) Forand; two sons, Thomas P. Forand, Jr. and his fiancee Jennifer Ellis of Charlton, and John A. Forand and his fiancee Rebecca Ellis of Auburn; 2 grandchildren, Jayden and Cole Forand; his father, Joseph E. Forand, Sr, of Oxford; 5 brothers, Richard Boneski of Washington State, Louis Boneski of Halifax, MA, Joseph Boneski of Louisiana, Albert Forand of Charlton and Joseph E. Forand, Jr, of Putnam, CT; 2 sisters, Constance Misale of Mansfield, CT and Charlene Jones of Webster; an uncle, nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brothers John Forand and Anthony Boneski.

He was born in Webster and raised in Oxford, a son of Virginia M. (Denham) Forand. He was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He attended Oxford High School.

Mr. Forand was a truck driver for GMS Automotive in Worcester and then for Moscoffian’s Towing and Recovery in Oxford, retiring due to illness in 2002. He also served two years as a patrolman for the Oxford Police Department in the 1970's.

He was a former member of the Church of the Reconciliation in Webster. He enjoyed fishing and dirt bike riding. Most of all, he adored his grandsons.

Memorial calling hours will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, March 30, in Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM during the calling hours. After cremation, burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Donations in his name may be made to the American Heart Association, Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
