New Bedford MA, Filomena (Andrade) Neto age 82 years, died Friday March 21, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of Joao Neto. She was the mother of Manuel Fernando husband of Helen Neto, Maria Manuela wife of Fernando Sousa, and John C. husband of Joanne Neto all of Dartmouth, MA. Mrs. Neto was the sister of Albertina Avila, Aldina Bettencourt both of New Bedford, Maria Paiva of Dartmouth and the late Virginia Raposa and Clementina Almeida. She was the grandmother of Rosemary Neto Hazzard, Stephen Neto, Kelly Souza, Kirby Neto, Caryn Sousa-Aguiar, Fernando Neto and Lisa Sousa Neville, and great-grandmother of Sabrina, Tommy Aguiar, Jenna, Chloe, Braely, Myles Neto, Samuel Hazzard, and Danny Neville, she was also survived by several nieces and nephews
Mrs. Neto was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria Luisa (Estrela) Andrade. She was born in Fayal, Azores, Portugal; she lived in this area since 1960. She was employed as a stitcher at Langshaw MFG.
Mrs. Neto’s Funeral is From the Perry Funeral Home Wednesday at 8:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Julie Billiart Church, in Dartmouth, MA. at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.Visting hours will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M.
