Screven-Mrs. Laura Anne Crosby, age 47, died Thursday, March 20, 2008, at her residence under the care of Hospice of South Georgia after an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Wayne County and a devoted wife and mother. She is preceded in death by her mother, Martha Ann Phillips.
Mrs. Crosby is survived by her husband, Donald Crosby; her two daughters, Leigh Anne Crosby and Lori Crosby all of Screven; father, Glen Phillips Sr. of Screven; one sister, Lisa Wright of Jesup; two brothers, Phil (Jill) Phillips of Jesup and Michael (Cindy) Phillips of Hazlehurst.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 2:00 p. m. at the First Baptist Church of Screven with burial to follow at the Screven City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Chris Wright, Steven Wright, G. W. Phillips, Jake Phillips, Vaughn Devereaux and Dewayne Floyd. Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Hospice of South Georgia, Dr. Claire Hicks and staff, Dr. Sandra Bohnstengel and staff and Dr. Duane Moores and staff.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 21 from 6:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m. at the Howard~Jones~Nobles Funeral Home.
