Whitman- Lillian E. (Fox) O’Reilly, 77, died March 20th, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by all of her children. Lillian was the wife of the late William F. O’Reilly, Jr. Born January 9, 1931 in Boston. Lillian lived the last 50 years in Whitman; she was a retired employee of Shaw’s Supermarket. She was actively involved in the V.F.W. and served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Lillian enjoyed bingo, dancing, her home in Florida and trips to Foxwoods.
She was the loving mother of State Police Detective , LT. Stephen M. O’Reilly and his wife Aprile, Susan Caron and her husband Edward all of East Taunton, Mary Jean Olsen and her husband Bobby of Pembroke, Karen Rigo and her husband Steve of Bridgewater, Kevin O’Reilly, and her surrogate son Paul Webb both of Ft. Lauderdale FL.; twelve loving grandchildren and four great-grandchildren ,her sister Sophia Moretti of RI.
Her funeral services will be held Wednesday March 26th @ 9:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (RT 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman , followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman .Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday March 25th from 4:00-8:00 PM. Donations may be made in her name to the Old colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA. 02368
