Robert F. Murphy, 75, of North Rd., Sandown, NH died Thursday, December 20, 2001 at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH after a brief illness. He was born in Haverhill, Mass. on February 22, 1926, a son of the late Robert and Regina (Fortier) Murphy. He was a resident of Sandown, NH for the past five years, formerly living in Haverhill. He was a US Navy veteran. He was a communicant of St. Anne’s Church in Hampstead, NH and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Jude Chapter in Plaistow, NH. Mr. Murphy was predeceased by his wife Catherine (David) Murphy in August 2001.
He is survived by two sons, Robert M. Murphy of Sarasota, Fla., William J. Murphy of Bend, Ore., two daughters, Susan Fox of Portland, Ore., Patricia Murphy of Haverhill, Mass., 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one daughter, Cheryl Barker who died in 1989.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 27th at 10:30 in St. Anne’s Church, Emerson Rd., Hampstead, NH. The burial will be in the Holy Angels Cemetery in Plaistow, NH in the Spring. Friends may call at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH on Wednesday, December 26th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9. In lieu of flowers, Bob requested to have a Mass said in his memory.
