Myrtle (Arnberg) Norton died on Monday, March 17th at the Riverbend Nursing Home in South Natick. She was 97 years old. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Albin and Johanna (Anderson) Arnberg. A Newton resident since 1941, Mrs. Norton had lived in Newtonville and West Newton. For many years she worked as a secretary for the Newton School Department. Mrs. Norton was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Newtonville. The beloved wife of the late Edward G. Norton Jr., she was the Loving mother of Donald E. Norton of Newton and Joan N. Stapleton and her husband David of Dover. Dear grandmother of Pamela Knechtel of Providence RI, Jennifer Stapleton of Brighton and David W. ‘Tripp’ Stapleton III and his wife Mata Swenson of San Francisco CA. Also survived by 2 great granddaughters, Melissa and Jennifer and one great great grandson . A Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 297 Lowell Ave, Newtonville on Monday March 24th at 11AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
