Mrs. Mary F. (Aveni) Kennedy, age 86, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, March 18, 2008, at home in Woburn. Born in Jerome, PA, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Rose(Mobilia) & Gaetano Aveni.
Mary was the beloved wife of the late John B. Kennedy. She and her late husband lived and worked in Washington DC from 1960 to 1975 where Mary was an Office Manager in the Geological Survey Office of the US Dept. of Interior. Raised in Somerville, Mary graduated from Somerville High School in 1938. Following her husband's death in 1998, Mary did many hours of volunteer worked for the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. A Woburn resident for the last 10 years, she was formerly of Billerica.
Mary was the devoted mother of Rosemary K. Torpey of Woburn, Patricia Kennedy Graham and her husband John of Billerica. Loving grandmother of Megan Price, Sean Torpey and Amanda Graham. Sister of Jean Amodeo of Belmont, Victoria Pedroni of Winchester and the late Margaret Mucci, Charles and James Aveni.
A funeral service will be held from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Thursday, March 20th at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclud with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
It has been requested that any memorial contributions be made in Mary's name to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
