Obituary

DUDLEY - Pauline M. (Chlapowski) Paglione, age 77, of Dudley, passed away March 17, 2008 in her home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her life and best friend of 56 years, her husband Joseph and by their five loving and devoted children, daughter Diane, wife of Dr. Arthur Gutierrez of Denver, CO and their children Joshua, Ariana and Cristina, daughter Joan, wife of Joseph Juszczyk of Warren and their children Matthew and Alyssa, son Marty of Norwich, CT and children Kara and Michael, daughter Nancy, wife of Colonel Robert Tobin USMC of Richmond, VA and their children Catherine and Ashley, daughter Lori, wife of Jack Gomez of Dudley and their children Nathan and Trent. In addition to her immediate family, she also leaves behind her 2 brothers, Anthony Chlapowski and his wife Esther of Laramie, WY and John Chlapowski and his wife Jean of Dudley; 2 sisters, Eleanor, wife of David Damian of Benbrook, TX and Patricia Johnson of Webster. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers Theodore and Leon Chlapowski.

She was born in Rockville, CT on October 23, 1930, daughter of the late Chester and Agnes (Delman) Chlapowski. She moved to Webster and then to Dudley when she married in 1951. She attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School and graduated from Bartlett High School in 1949.

Pauline worked as a baker at Shepherd Hill Regional High School in Dudley. Next to her family, cooking and baking were her lifelong passions. She enjoyed family gatherings so that she could showcase her wonderful cooking, especially her world famous Italian meatballs.

After her retirement in l990, Pauline enjoyed playing cards in the league at TSKK, traveling to Atlantic City or to the casinos at the Indian reservations with her friend Bella. She was an active member of Saint Anthony of Padua Church.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, March 19, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, with a Mass to celebrate her life at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours are from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Tuesday, March 18, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to either VNA Hospice Care Network, 120 Thomas St. Worcester, MA 01608 or to Pancreatic Cancer Research, PanCan, 2141 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 7000, El Segundo, CA 90245.
