
Jeanne L. Plante, 97, formerly of Mendon Rd., Cumberland, died Friday at St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Albertine (Peloquin) Plante. She worked for the State of Rhode Island Department of Employment Security until her retirement in 1975. She lived most of her latter life with her sisters in Cumberland, and was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church. She was a resident of St. Antoine since 2003.
She is survived by a sister, Doris (Plante) Pelletier, of Coventry, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Victoria D. Plante, Lillian M. Plante, Frederick R. Plante, Lionel J. Plante, and Henri Plante.
Her funeral will be Tuesday at 9:00 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Rd., Cumberland. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Antoine Residence, 10 Rhodes Ave., North Smithfield, RI., 02896, or St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Rd., Cumberland, RI., 02864.
