Obituary

Mary A. (Guerra) Valenti, 81, of Medford, died Thursday at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Med. Center, Boston.

Mrs. Valenti was born and raised in East Boston, the daughter of the late Frank and the late Mary (Lazzaro) Guerra.

Mary was a dedicated homemaker, and devoted to her family. She resided in Medford for nearly 50 years. Her husband, Fred, operated a ticket agency now operated by their grandson Chris.Mary’s son, Al, is a boxing promoter who promoted the last professional boxing show at the Boston Garden and introduced Professional Boxing to the Fleet Center.

In addition to her husband Fred and son Al, Mary is survived by her son Frank and his wife Linda of Hampstead NH, and daughters: Connie Valenti, Carol Valenti-Paci, Donna Murphy and her husband Joseph all of Medford.She leaves her grandchildren, Mark, Chris, Eric, Cara, Gabrielle, Timothy, Matthew, Michelle and Nicholas. She was the loving great grandmother of Samuel.Mary leaves her sisters Anne Gilberto, Lillian Guerra, Rose Sacco, and Frances Piantedosi all of East Boston.She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit Saturday and Sunday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, Monday at 11am.

Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
