Rehoboth, MA - Wilfred S. Jones, 88, of Rehoboth passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the Evergreen House Health Center after a brief illness. He was husband of the late Ruth E. (Brown) Jones.
Born in Dartmouth, MA, son of the late Edward E. and Alice F. (Tripp) Jones, he grew up in Tiverton, RI and had lived in Rehoboth since 1979. A WWII veteran, he served his country in the United States Army Air Force where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross. Mr. Jones worked for Congden and Carpenter in Seekonk for over 40 years before retiring in 1986 as a supervisor. He enjoyed gardening and playing cards, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include a son: Kenneth D. Jones of Rehoboth; a daughter: Nancy E. Geraghty of Portsmouth, RI; 2 brothers: Francis Jones of Dartmouth, MA and Frederick Jones of Huntsville, TX; 4 sisters: Ruth Wilcock of Brewster, MA, Alice Barnes of Mineola, TX, Marion Phelan of Westport, MA and Sarah Swindells of Westport, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late John Jones, Edward Jones, Helen Albert and Barbara Jones.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Calling hours Friday 4 - 7 P.M.
Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River.
