In Taunton, March 10, 2008 Leonora (Porfido) died after a brief illness at the age of 91. Leonora was the wife of the late Charles Pirozzi. She was born to her late parents Tomaso & Merope (Branchini) Porfido in Taunton. Leonora has lived her entire life in Taunton. Educated in Taunton schools and a graduate of T.H.S. in 1935. She was employed as a clerk for various local companies including Pobers & Alden Auto Parts. Leonora was a member of the St. Joseph’s Womens Guild and the Sons of Italy. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, crafts, cooking and supporting local musical productions. Besides her late husband Leonora leaves her two sons Edward Pirozzi and his wife Barbara of Mashpee and Peter Pirozzi and his wife Linda of Middleboro. Her daughter Diana Shearstone and her husband Donald of Rochester. Her brother Antone Porfido of Mansfield. Grandmother of eight and great Grandmother of thirteen. Leonora is also survived by several neices & nephews. Funeral from the O”Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton on Friday, March 14th at 10am. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church in Taunton at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thurs. from 4-7pm. Interment in the family lot in St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton. In lieu of flowers donations in Leonora’s memory may be made to the Charity of Ones Choice.
