Obituary

WORCESTER-Alice E. (Ford) Kenary, 84, of 256 Worcester Road, Barre formerly of Crest Circle died Wednesday, February 12th in Mill Hill Nursing Home. Her husband, Raymond V. Kenary died in January 2001. She leaves a son, Kevin R. Kenary of Barre; 3 sisters, Mary M. Beahn of Paxton, Agnes L. Hannon and Helen A. Ford both of Worcester; and several nieces and nephews. 2 brothers, John M. Ford and Brother Cyprian, C.F.X predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of John M. and Jennie B. (Laverty) Ford and lived in Worcester most of her life. She graduated from South High School and received her bachelor and master degrees from Worcester State College. Mrs. Kenary was a teacher for many years in Franconia Notch, NH, Jefferson, MA and in Worcester where she taught at Gates Lane, Heard Street, Freeland Street and Malvin Road Schools retiring in 1970. After retiring, she continued to be a substitute teacher in the Tampa Bay, FL area until 1993. She was a former member of Our Lady of the Angels Church.

The funeral will be Saturday, February 15th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, February 14th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Xaverian Brothers Auxiliary, 4409 Frederick Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21229 or to the New England Development Office, Sisters of Notre Dame, 340 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
