Clara A. Abisso, 89 of Quincy, formerly of Randolph and Somerville died Monday in Morton Hospital Medical Center Taunton. She is the wife of the late Joseph Abisso.
Born in Chelsea, daughter of the late Stefano and Lena (Piazo) Voltero. She attended local schools. In her early years she worked along with her brothers and sisters in the family grocery store in Chelsea. She loved to dance, sing and cook. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society in Quincy.
Mrs. Abisso is the devoted mother of Diane Kelley and her husband Paul of Charlotte, NC.,Salvatore Abisso and his wife Bernice of Taunton and Thomas Abisso of Charlestown. Loving grandmother of Kristin Hilliard, Thomas Jr, Terence and Kimberly Abisso, Dr. Scott Kelley, Jill Kelley and Wendy McNeil and Michelle Kourkoulis, Loving sister of 10 late brothers and sisters. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday at 9AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 – 8PM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
