Barbara M. Preston, 63 of Gilmanton Ironworks, NH died Saturday March 8, 2008 at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, NH. Mrs. Preston was born in Barre, VT on April 15, 1945 the daughter of the late Calvin and Hilda (Drowne) Russell. She had resided in Gilmanton Ironworks for the past 11 years, formerly living in Allenstown and Derry, NH. She was a former owner of Derry Donuts in Derry. She also enjoyed crafting and gardening.
She is survived by her husband, Richard J. Preston of Gilmanton Ironworks, three daughters, Kim Withey of Waxhaw, NC, Kathy Lord of Alton, NH, Tiffany Morgan of Gilmanton Ironworks, one son, Shawn McKenzie of Manchester, NH, and 13 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandson, Ryan W. McKenzie in 1993.
Calling hours were held from 5-8pm Wednesday March 12, 2008 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Thursday at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
