Obituary

Raymond E. Flynn, Jr., 68, of Derry, NH, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 in the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. Mr. Flynn was born in Holyoke, MA on October 19, 1939, a son of the late Raymond E. and Clematis (Richter) Flynn, Sr. He was a resident of Derry for the past ten years. Mr. Flynn was employed as an Assistant Plant Manager for Oak Tree Manufacturing. He was a prison minister for Chuck Colson’s Prison Fellowship Ministry in PA, CT, and NY. Mr. Flynn was a Vietnam veteran, and had also served in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as a member of the United States Navy. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
He is survived by his wife, Marie H. (Minkler) Flynn of Derry; with whom he just celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on March 2nd; two daughters, Dorine M. St. Lawrence and her husband James of Hinsdale, MA, and Raelene M. Lavey and her husband Kevin of Derry; two sons, Charles E. Douglas and his wife Doreen of Springfield, MA, and Raymond E. Flynn, III and his wife Sharon of Marysville, WA. Mr. Flynn was a cherished grandfather to his four grandchildren, Sarrah Flynn, Nathen Flynn of Marysville,WA, Kevin Lavey, Jr., and Claire Lavey of Derry. He is also survived by a brother, Bruce A. Flynn of Chicopee, MA, as well as by several family members in the Chicopee, MA area and several dear friends and neighbors in New Hampshire.
Following cremation, a calling hour was held on Thursday, March 13th from 5 - 6pm in Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry with a memorial service following at 6:00pm in the funeral home.
