Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Miss Priscilla M. “Aunt Mike” Anderson, 82, of 59 Prospect Street died Saturday in the Addison Gilbert Hospital following an extended illness.
Born in Gloucester on May 10, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Herbert C. and Ella Vivian (Greenwood) Anderson. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and a graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1943. She received training as an x-ray technician at the Salem Hospital and for twenty years, worked for the late Dr. Hannah in Malden.
She then began a 25 year career working for the City of Gloucester in the Treasurer’s office; first as a clerk and worked her way up to Assistant Tax Collector. Following retirement, she spent a great deal of time volunteering for the Gloucester Archives Committee.
She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Keyes, two nieces and five nephews, her beloved niece, Lynda D. White, with whom she resided, Ronald White, Dennis White, Jocelyn Keyes, Robert, husband of Elizabeth Keyes, Richard Keyes, and Edward, husband of Matthia Keyes. Among her many grandnieces and grandnephews, she leaves Matthew, Eric and Coleen White, Robert, Jr., Jonathan, Suzanne, and Alexander Keyes. She is also survived by a special cousin, Tobey O’Dea, and special friends, the MacLean Family of Reading. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law, Henry R. Keyes and her dear friend, Julia Pacheco.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday morning in the Trinity Congregational Church at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Cape Ann Animal Aid, 260 Main Street, Gloucester, MA 01930 or to the family. Interment will be held in the Beechbrook Cemetery.
