Obituary

Anthony F. Youdis 90 years of Brockton died unexpectedly March 8, 2008 at the Brockton Hospital. He was the husband for 61 years of Evelyn L. (Simpson) Youdis. Born and raised in Quincy a son of the late Pasquale and Bambino (Ditunno) Youdis, Tony had been a resident of Brockton for over 50 years.
He served in the US Navy in undeclared wartime in 1940 in convoy duty in the North Atlantic to England. During WWII he served on the Battleship USS New Mexico, the aircraft carriers USS Core, USS Bataan and USS Oriskani. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1955. Following his retirement, Tony was an airplane mechanic at Wiggins Airways at Norwood Airport for 20 years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, line dancing and home repair work. Tony had been a member of the Italian American Veterans Association.
He was the brother of Rose Riccardi of Quincy, Guido Youdis of Georgia and the late Mary Marcus, Vera Munro, Alice Pagnani, and Frank Youdis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St.(Rte 123) Brockton Monday, March 17, 2008 at 11am with a visitation 10-11am. The Rev. Allan Palmer will officiate. Burial with military honors in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater.
