Billy D. Turner was the sixth child born to the late J.B., Sr. and Aleain (Booker) Turner on June 23, 1949. Billy was known throughout the community as an avid carpenter. He confessed hope in Christ and was a member of the Turner’s Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. Billy accepted his invitation to eternal life on March 5, 2008.
Billy’s wonderful life was tempered with sorrow in the loss of his mother, Mrs. Aleain Booker Turner, father, Mr. J.B. Turner, Sr. and siblings, Louise, Laura and James Phillips. However, his memories and legacy will remain strong through the lives of his beloved wife, Betty B. Turner; one son, Gerald; one daughter, Christy (Marquise), all of Harvest, Alabama; four grandsons: De’Andre Turner, Aiden Wilson, both of Harvest, Alabama, Khalil Thurman and Korey Thurman Turner, both of Montgomery, Alabama; seven brothers: J.B. Turner, Jr. (Barbara), Aaron Turner, both of Harvest, Alabama, Harold Turner (Ann) of Huntsville, Alabama, Boyd Turner (Jannifer) of Toney, Alabama, Quintin Turner (Shirley) of Harvest, Alabama, Gary Turner (Cassandra) of Ardmore, Alabama and Larry Harris (Glen) of Madison, Alabama; three sisters: Sandra Biggs (Michael) of Snellville, Georgia, Bessie Jordan (David) of Huntsville, Alabama and Kathy Turner of Harvest, Alabama; a mother-in-law, Bessie Binford of Harvest, Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews, special family members and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Billy Don Turner will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2008 from the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Mildred Watson officiating and Reverend Jermaine Turner as Eulogist. Interment will be in Booker Cemetery. The Turner family will receive friends and family on Friday, March 7, 2008 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m at the funeral home. The remains of Mr. Turner will be in the church one hour prior to funeral time.
