Devoted wife of the late Stephen Janiak, Sr. Beloved mother of Elvina Parrotta of Merrimack, NH, Lorraine MacAllister of Middleboro, Stephen Janiak, Jr. of Taunton, Janet Troville of Halifax, Albert Janiak of Chelsea, Barbara Ann DeFilippo of North Reading and Joseph Janiak of New Bedford. Dear sister of Beatrice Jackson of FL, Ethel Colantouni of Saugus and the late Mildred, Edmund, Arthur and Robert Chaput. Also lovingly survived by 17 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Monday morning, March 10th at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in Our Lady of Grace Church, 59 Nichols Street, CHELSEA at 9 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Born and a lifelong resident of Chelsea until moving to North Reading a short time ago, Rita, at 80 years of age, passed away at the Life Care Center of Stoneham after a brief illness. A devoted wife and mother to her family, for a number of years she worked for Leonard Silver as well as Forbes Litho.
