Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Kenneth R. Anderson, 82, of Lanesville, died Thursday morning, March 6, 2008 in the Den-Mar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rockport. He was the husband of Martha (Story) Anderson.
Born in Gloucester on May 25, 1925, he was the son of the late M. John and Bertha (Morris) Anderson. He was a lifelong resident and was a graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1943 and Bentley College.
Mr. Anderson was employed in accounting for many years first at the former Birdseye Foods, followed by Gorton’s of Gloucester and Para Research, having retired in 1987.
Following retirement he and Martha enjoyed hiking, mountain climbing and traveling all over Europe. He was an avid photographer and also enjoyed boating and woodworking.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by his daughter, Karen A. Webber, and her husband, Peter, of Rockport, two sons, Mark S. Anderson and Craig R. Anderson and his wife, Lauren, all of Gloucester. He also leaves four grandchildren, Ben and Matthew Webber, Evan M. Anderson and Craig J. Anderson, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Doris Webber.
His funeral services will be held on Saturday morning in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in the Seaside Cemetery, Lanesville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, to the Orthodox Congregational Church, 1120 Washington St., Gloucester, MA 01930 or to the Addison Gilbert Hospital, 298 Washington St., Gloucester, MA 01930.
