PETER W. KJER, age 83, died on Wednesday, March 5th at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.
He was born in Amherst, Wisconsin and had been a resident of Cohasset for 39 years. Peter was a decorated U.S. Army Veteran who served in Europe during World War II. He was a regional sales manager for Sentry Insurance Company, retiring in 1990.
He was the husband of Mary Lu (Piatt) Kjer and loving father of Laurie Zastrow of Hull, Michelle Sullivan and her husband Kevin of Norwood and Lisa Parsons of West Medford; beloved "Papa" of granddaughters Amy Johnson, Katie and Jessie Parsons; and great granddaughters, Megan and Kelly Johnson. Also survived by his brother Leonard Kjer and sister Donna Trzebiatowski both of Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, March 10th at 11 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham. Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Sunday from 4-7 PM and on Monday, prior to the service, from 10-11 AM. The interment will be at a later date.
