Obituary

Biagino “Gene” Taddeo, a retired insurance agent, died Sunday at his Medford home. He was 87.

Born in the Abruzzi region of Italy, he was he son late Lionel and the late Giovannina Taddeo. He was raised in Everett and served with the Army in the Pacific during World War II. He remained in the service with the National Guard until 1962. After the war, he attended the Burdett School and Northeastern University. He then embarked on a long and successful career in insurance. He worked as a broker and agent for Boston Mutual and American Mutual where he was often recognized for reaching the highest sales goals. He had his own agency in Arlington, B Taddeo Insurance Agency. He operated the business until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Sons of Italy, Lodge 2030 and the VFW Post 834 in Everett. Gene was a dedicated family man who enjoyed time with his family, especially traveling to Martha’s Vineyard and Florida. He enjoyed golf, music, reading, Boston Red Sox, and boxing.


He was the beloved husband of Adeline S. (Tarani). He was the devoted father of Thomas Taddeo, Ronald Taddeo, both of Medford, Leonard Taddeo and his wife Joanne of Somerville, Gina Silva and her husband John of Medford. He was a loving grandfather to Michael and Nicole. He was the brother of the late Carmine Taddeo. Gene also leaves many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Friday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family Thursday 4 – 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
