Eunice (Gledhill) Kirby, 88, formerly of Pequot Trail, Stonington, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2008 at the Westerly Hospital.
Eunice was born on May 30, 1919 in Mystic to the late Frederick and Elsie Clark) Gledhill. She was graduated from Stonington High School class of 1937.
She was married on November 11, 1945 to James J. Kirby, sadly he passed away on August 14, 1995.
Eunice was a homemaker and a bank teller for the former People’s Savings Bank and retired from the Washington Trust Co. in 1984.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center, and the Stonington and North Stonington Senior Centers.
She leaves three children, James F. Kirby, Barbara K. Nardone of Naples, FL, and Elizabeth C. Kirby of Peace Dale, RI; two grandchildren, Henry Nardone III and Jennifer McDonald; one great-grandchild, Angela Rose Nardone; nieces , nephews, and a special friend and sister-in-law of over 60 years, Marion K. Douglas. She was predeceased by a brother, Arthur I. Gledhill.
Her family will gather for a private service. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
