Obituary

Raymond J. O’Donnell, 94, of Medway, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the Medway Country Manor Nursing Home. He was the husband of Helen E. (Hannum) O’Donnell since 1959.

Born in Brockton on April 20, 1913, he was a son of the late Raymond A. and Mary E. (Murphy) O’Donnell. Mr. O’Donnell was a resident of Medway since 1959.

He retired in 1993 as a chief power plant engineer from the Massachusetts Mental Health Center in Boston where he worked for 35 years.

Mr. O’Donnell was a WWII Navy veteran attaining the rank of Machinist Mate first class and was awarded the American area, Asiatic-Pacific (7 stars) and the Philippine Liberation ribbons. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post#1526 in Medway.

Besides his wife, he is survived by; his son, Michael O’Donnell of Medway, his daughter, Kathleen Ober of Beaver Falls, Penn., a sister, Margaret Mahmarian of Scituate and three grandchildren, Shannon O’Donnell and Nathan and Matthew Ober.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Friday, March 7 at St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at the Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.

Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
