Obituary

Mourad “Simon” Mikitarian 70 of Main Street Worcester died Sunday (Feb.9) in the Worcester Medical Center. He leaves 3 brothers his twin Rubin Mikitarian and George Mikitarian of Worcester and Murad “Rudy” Mikitarian of Harwich. 2 sisters Alice E. Germigian on N. Brookfield and Gloria Tomaso of Milford, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Mikitarian was born in Worcester son of John and Zarouhie (Zeroogian) Mikitarian and had resided here all his life. He was a graduate of Worcester Public Schools.

Mr. Mikitarian was an assembler for General Electric Company and Wire Fab Corporation retiring several years ago.He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.Mr. Mikitarian was a member of Holy Trinity Armenian Church. He was an accomplished Dumbeg player, playing with Middle Eastern Bands.

Funeral Services will be held Friday (Feb.14) at 11:00am in the Holy Trinity Armenian Church 635 Grove Street; Worcester.Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling Hours will be Thursday 5-8 pm in Nordgren Memorial Chapel,300 Lincoln Street Worcester. A Dngark Service will be held at 6:30 pm during the Calling Hours. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Holy Trinity Armenian Church 635 Grove Street, Worcester.
