Eric A. Oman, of Brockton, 78 years, died March 3, 2008. He was the husband for 50 years of the late Muriel M. “Honey” (Tucker) Oman. Born and raised in Brockton, son of the late Eric and Judith (Freeman) Oman. He had been a lifelong resident and a 1947 graduate of Brockton High School. Eric served in the US Navy from 1947-1950 as a weatherman and joined the US Naval Reserves in 1950 serving until 1958. From 1956-1958 he was on active duty at the South Weymouth NAS. Eric was a Salesman of Horticultural supplies and Turf equipment from 1962 until his retirement in 2005.
He is survived by his daughter Gail E. Collins and her husband Joseph of Brockton, two grandsons Patrick and David Collins of Brockton, two sisters Elin “Skippy” Dutcher and Betty Randall, many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ella Walsh and Ethel Kelly.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 9:30am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish/St. Edward Church at 10:30am. Burial will be at a later date in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Visiting Hours Thursday 4-7pm.
