Mathilda S. “Tillie” (Mello) Freitas, age 87 of Shawomet Ave., formerly of 2nd St. Somerset. Widow of Albon B. Freitas. Daughter of the late Alfred Souza Mello & Maria Urselina (Diniz) Mello. Passed away March 1, 2008. Born in Fall River she was a Somerset resident since 1951. She was a member of St. John of God Church, the Daughters of Isabella, Holy Rosary Sodality, PACL, Somerset Senior Chorus & various senior organizations. She was a Homemaker.
She is survived by 2 sons: Alfred B. Freitas & his wife Connie of Somerset & David J. Freitas of Granger, IN; l daughter: Theresa Ann Motta & husband David of Fall River; l sister: Mary Sorensen of Palm Desert, CA; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren & several nieces & nephews. Sister of the late Alvin J. Mello.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Thursday at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church at 9 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours Wednesday 4-8 P.M.
