Mary A. Ferland, 90 of N. Main St died Friday in the Sara Brayton Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Emile Ferland. Mrs. Ferland was born in New Bedford, MA a daughter of the late Hypolite and Albertine (Pelland) Madec. She had lived most of her life in Woonsocket before moving to Fall River in June of 1989. She was a floor girl for the former Finklestein & Sons for 23 years retiring in 1979.
Mrs. Ferland is survived by a son Richard Ferland and his wife Judy of Franklin, MA, two daughters Anita Ferland of Foster RI, and Carole Ferland of Fall River, a step daughter Judith Silverstein of Del Ray, FL, two sisters Beatrice Coffey and Lillian Leary both of CT., two grandchildren, Bryan and his wife Kelly, and Alissa and her husband Robert, a foster grandchild Francesca, and one great grandchild Emma. She was also the sister of the late Julian, Ernest, Leo, Hypolite, and Germaine Madec, and Janet White.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 am. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham.
